India has been a prominent team among international cricket teams. But the glory of the biggest team grew scales under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Indian cricket got its vertebrae straight during his leadership. He is a man of strong willpower, determination and above all a supporting head of team like ours. Time magazine lists him among the ‘100 most influential person in 2011’. His enthusiasm and passion for the cricket make him my favorite cricketer.

Life of Mahendra Dhoni

M S Dhoni was born on 7 July 1981 in Ranchi, Jharkhand to Pan Singh and Devaki Devi. Dhoni was a goalkeeper for his football team. But his goal keeping skills were directed to wicket keeping and he mastered it. He began his cricket journey from Vinoo Mankad trophies. And the performance enlisted him in U-19. Gradually he made his Ranji Trophy debut for Bihar in 1999-2000. It was the cricket legends Sourav Ganguly and Ravi Shastri spotted his potential to a world class player. His first ODI was against Bangladesh. But won a remarkable position in ODI team with the success of India – Pakistan ODI series and rest were histories.

Dhoni is exemplary for his super cool attitude in tense scenarios. He was ready to render the best whenever the team needs him most. He was getting so popular that he chose to be 10 Th most valuable brand in sports world wide. Dhoni became the captain of the Indian team for the inaugural ICC World Tewnty20 in South Africa in September 2007. India won the match and was titled champions. He was then the ODI captain of the Indian team against Australia in September 2007.He was made the test captain of the leading cricket team of India from the final test against Australia in November 2008 replacing Anil Kumble.

Achievements of My Favorite Cricketer

Dhoni has bagged many records during his career. Test and ODI international records are so large in number and enviable. India has won the T-20 World Cup and ODI World Cup under his captaincy. He has been awarded ICC ODI Player of the Year  in 2008 and 2009. He was recognised for LG People’s Choice Award in 2013. And the golden feather of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, India’s highest honour was given for his achievement in sports; 2007–08. He was respected with the honorary doctorate degree from De Montfort University in August 2011.

M S Dhoni is not just a cricketer. He is an enthusiast and has special love for all sports. He has a large collection of bikes and cars.
